On Wednesday 23 March at Hengist Field Care Home the sun was shining and it was a glorious day!
Many of our residents joined us in our Orangery garden where we planted a beautiful Cherry Blossom tree named ‘Spring Glow‘ in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Platinum Jubilee is being celebrated in 2022 in the Commonwealth to mark the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6th February 1952.
We all spent a lovely afternoon in the sunshine, with refreshments, reminiscence, music and a singalong – all mixed up with plenty of laughter!
We are all delighted with our special tree and we will be adding a plaque to it to mark this memorable occasion.
