WOW WOW WOW! What a fantastic afternoon we had on Wednesday 25 October when we welcomed a group of young Latino dancers, aged 8-12 years, to come and dance for us at Hengist Field Care Home.
In preparation, we decorated our lounge with a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ theme – hanging disco balls, gold foil curtains, posters and a ‘Keep on Dancing!’ sign. The scene was set, and boy did the girls give us a show, they were absolutely amazing!
Our residents and team members had a fantastic afternoon watching the group perform their routines. The girls both looked professional and danced like professionals, just fantastic! We made some score cards for our residents to hold up, which were all tens of course!
When the show had finished, we presented the girls with a disco ball keyring, a large bag of sweets, chocolate lolly and a gold winner medal each.
We can’t thank Nellsar’s Recruitment Office, Sarah, enough for helping to arrange the afternoon. Huge thanks to all the girls and their parents for coming and a shout out to our Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv for helping with the décor and prizes, and joining us for the afternoon.
We are hoping the girls will come and dance for us again when possible, as our residents haven’t stop talking about the afternoon! Very special.
