On Monday 5 June we held a Spanish-themed day here at Hengist Field Care Home.
Our staff dressed up in flamenco dresses with flowers in their hair and our residents enjoyed a morning of Spanish trivia and a quiz. They also learned a few Spanish words and phrases like ‘Hola‘, ‘Gracias‘ and ‘Como se llama‘ (‘What’s it called?‘).
In the afternoon we served tapas including different types of Spanish sausage, cheese, sun dried tomato, olives and more! To accompany these yummy treats, our residents enjoyed a refreshing glass of sangria.
We also had fun with a piñata and played musical instruments along to some Spanish music. To top it all off, our ladies and gents chose a favourite of theirs – another quiz – this time using their instruments as ‘buzzers’.
A super day was had by all!
