Here at Hengist Field Care Home we like to do a lot of sensory activities, especially ones that use our sense of smell; mint, curry plant, lavender and other herbs – many scents can spark reminiscence of a place, time or special memory.
Eighteen months ago, we spoke with a lovely lady called Zoe, who works for a company called Primcura Healthcare who were piloting a new sensory game and Zoe sent us a prototype to try. After testing it, we sent her our feedback on how well the trial went.
Now the company has perfected the game. It looks very professional and is called ‘Smell & Tell‘. The company have very kindly donated one for all of our Nellsar Homes to use and asked if we would kindly send some feedback from each Home, which we are more than happy to do!

We shall have fun playing the game and smelling all the different scents – bubblegum, cucumber, pine, peppermint, cinnamon, olives, chocolate, clove and bacon, to name a few!
