And they’re off!
We held a wonderful afternoon on Saturday 9 April, watching The Grand National here at Hengist Field Care Home.
Everyone cheered on their chosen horse and the winning horse Noble Yeats (50-1!) was picked by Hildy, who was overjoyed with her 1st place prize – some toiletries, fluffy socks and chocolate of her choice.
Our second prize of toiletries and chocolate went to Mary as her horse Any Second Now (15-2) came in second place.
Nobody picked the 3rd placed horse, so as David had picked Santini (33-1) who came in fourth, he won some aftershave.
Our Booby prize (for the last horse to cross the line) went to Janet who picked Lost in Translation (50-1) – Janet won some scented hand wash.
A fantastic afternoon of racing. Congratulations to our winners!
