On Wednesday 26 July we were excited to go out on a trip with some of our Hengist Field Care Home residents to Maidstone, where we had arranged a boat trip aboard The Kentish Lady on the River Medway.
The Kentish Lady departs from Maidstone and cruises upriver through Farleigh Lock and onwards through Farleigh, Barming and Teston Bridges, turning at Teston Lock for the return journey.
The sun was shining and its was so calm, relaxing and peaceful. Everyone tucked into a delicious fish and chip lunch with a choice of drinks and fresh fruit for everyone.
While we journeyed down the river we enjoyed the wonderful scenery, wildlife and other boats along the way who we waved at as we passed by.
Once we had docked and everyone was off the boat, we all sat and had an ice cream by the river.
What an amazing trip out – one we will definitely be doing again. Thank you to The Kentish Lady and her crew for a really memorable day.
