Hengist Field Care Home residents enjoy a posh Coffee Morning

Our residents loved the Coffee Morning we hosted here at Hengist Field Care Home on Friday 18 August, as we went all out to make it ‘posh’, with china cups and saucers, tea made in a china teapot and coffee made in a pot too.

We had cubes of sugar and our Activities Team members dressed in little white aprons and white mop caps to serve our residents and to add to the atmosphere.

We chatted about etiquette, how you should stir you tea – not round and round but to and fro, from one side of the cup to the other! We laughed and chatted about sticking our little fingers out while sipping our tea.

Our Chef made some cakes and muffins with delicious flavours including coffee and walnut, blueberry and chocolate orange. We also served tradition teacakes, yummy!

We reminisced about old money and buying penny sweets and The World Cup back in 1966 and also discussed the ladies football cup final and how everyone was looking forward to cheering the Lionesses on.

A really enjoyable afternoon.
