We had a busy day commemorating our fallen heroes, surviving veterans and animals that also served on Saturday 11 November, over the Remembrance weekend.
We started the morning with a two-minute silence at 11am, when all residents and team members came together, wearing their poppies with pride.
Later, we made some lovely flower arrangements in the Remembrance colours, which were then placed around our Home with their sweet scent for everyone to enjoy.
As part of the day, we also watched the Lord Mayor’s Parade, which was fantastic and so full of colour, and after lunch, Pat Tatchell came to visit to give a lovely Remembrance service.
For the Fallen
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
