We have another new arrival at Hengist Field Care Home in the way of Billy – a special Dementia doll – named by the residents. Many of our residents find dolls very therapeutic and they can have a calming effect.
We now have a little nursery starting in our Acorn Lounge where residents can go and take Billy or Aaron for a stroll in the pram, rock them to sleep in the rocking Moses basket or just sit and cuddle them if they wish.
We are awaiting on two more girl dolls, due to arrive by a stork today (20 April) to complete our Dementia doll family.
