Our Activities Team here at Hengist Field Care Home has been working with our residents, collating their ideas to make our Carers feel loved and valued during Carers Week.
Our ladies and gents were asked what they liked about their Carers and we wrote some of their words on a decorated white board for them to see and appreciate.
Our residents wanted each of our Units to have a gift of sweets to share, plus a homemade card. They also wanted each of our Carers to receive an individual thank you card, along with a single rose, wrapped in brightly coloured tissue paper.
On Friday 10 June all our planning paid off when we held a wonderful presentation. Our Home Manager Neli thanked our Carers for their dedication, commitment and hard work – then gave each one in turn their card and rose.
The words on the white board received a lot of lovely comments and made our staff quite emotional! One Carer commented how nice it was to see in writing exactly how much they are thought of by our ladies and gentlemen. Our residents were thanked for their ideas and told just how much we appreciate them too!
