Our lovely residents here at Hengist Field Care Home enjoyed an afternoon baking session on Thursday 13 February.
Our ladies and gents chose to make some tarts, first starting with rolling out the pastry, then cutting out the cases to the sizes required and putting them in the trays.
Next, we filled with the cases with jam or mincemeat, cut the pastry tops out, and finished them off with a brush of milk before handing them to our Chef to bake.
Our residents later enjoyed a tasty jam tart or mince pie with a cuppa – they were delicious!
