Peter Kneebone entertains Hengist Field Care Home residents

Musical afternoon

Our residents and staff here at Hengist Field Care Home had a fabulous afternoon with entertainer Peter Kneebone last week.

Peter is a regular and extremely popular visitor with our ladies and gents. He knows many of our residents by name and knows what songs to sing to get them moving in their seats – foot tapping, arm waving, clapping and shimmying along!

It is so nice to see our entertainers able to return after COVID, and our residents enjoying more time together.

Our staff find it so rewarding to see our ladies and gents having such a good time and the atmosphere in our Home twinkled with fun!

Sensory sessions

Our Orca Unit residents have had fun exploring textures during 1-1 activity sessions.

We used a variety of balls, bubbles and textured sample blocks and had fun playing catch and building and blowing bubbles.

Sensory experiences like this are very good at encouraging interaction, thinking and movement, especially for those ladies or gents who are confined to their beds due to health reasons.

Our Recreation and Well-Being Team here at Hengist Field understands how important these 1-1 sessions are in preventing social isolation and they like to ensure each of our resident gets as much focused time with our Carers as possible.
