Chick hatching
Here at Hengist Field Care Home we are truly Easter ready! Everywhere is decorated and our display unit is full of Easter crafts, hats and baskets.
We are also very excited as our chick hatching kit has arrived! It’s all set up and the eggs are in the incubator keeping warm. We are all so eager to see the cute fluffy chicks and give them plenty of love and cuddles.
The eggs are never on their own, as everyone is keeping an eye on them and can’t wait until they start to hatch.
We have previously had ducklings which everybody loved, but we thought as it is Easter, we would have the chicks this time around. We will keep you updated with their progress, with plenty of pictures!
Frogspawn and tadpoles
It really is ‘all about the hatching’ at the moment at our Home. As well as our chick eggs, we now also have some frogspawn and tadpoles to nurture.
We are very much looking forward to watching them turn into baby frogs.
Our residents love nature and now springtime is almost here the daffodils are popping up everywhere, the bluebells will be carpeting the woods, spring lambs will be jumping and the blossom trees look beautiful.
It’s such a wonderful time of the year that makes everyone smile.
