Hengist Field Care Home residents take trip to Dobbies Garden Centre

On Wednesday 22 February we took a lovely trip to our local Dobbies Garden Centre in Gillingham, as some of our ladies at Hengist Field Care Home had requested to get some pretty flower, vegetable and salad seeds to grow themselves.

We had a lovely journey in the mini bus, where there was plenty of excitement and group conversations.

We had a very tasty lunch too, when everyone chose what they fancied from the menu with a nice drink to wash it all down. There was a selection of gorgeous cakes, but as everyone was full, the staff boxed up the cakes for us to bring home and have later.

We all had a relaxing walk, browsing around the centre. Everyone chose some seeds to bring back ready for potting and planting.

We had a fabulous time with plenty of fun – hiding then popping up behind plants, trying on pom-pom hats and even throwing a ball to each other! A really great day out that everyone enjoyed and can’t wait to do again.

We have also welcomed Kayleigh to our Recreation and Well-Being Team, who joined us on Monday 13 February. She came with us on her first trip out and said how much she’d enjoyed the outing, loved getting to know everyone and had fun spending time with our lovely residents. Welcome Kayleigh!
