On Saturday 24 August we held a special afternoon tea party here at Hengist Field Care Home to celebrate this year’s Notting Hill Carnival.
It was a ‘masquerade‘ event, so all our residents wore masks. During the week we had an arts and crafts day where we made and decorated our masks for the occasion.
We put on some carnival music in our Cherry Lounge and then invited our residents to take up their seats and masks.
An abundance of finger sandwiches and delicately made cakes were on offer, together with tea, coffee and juice.
Mihaela and Karen, our Recreation and Well-Being Coordinators, were the hostesses for the afternoon who ensured everyone enjoyed the delicious treats on offer.
Our residents had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the tea and each other’s company.
