Flower power
We spent a lovely afternoon flower arranging on Monday 11 September here at Hengist Field Care Home.
We had a beautiful selection of colourful, scented flowers and foliage and our residents enjoyed choosing and designing their arrangements as they listened to relaxing music playing in the background.
At the end of the afternoon, one of our ladies took one of the gorgeous arrangements to give to our Home Manager Neli, to say thank you for everything she does. Neli was thrilled and thought the arrangement was beautiful.
The displays were also put on our dining tables and around our Home for everyone to admire and smell the gorgeous scent.
Singalong
We also had a brilliant old-fashioned singalong during the afternoon with a great selection of classic songs such as ‘Goodbye Dolly Grey’, ‘Hey Little Hen’, ‘Jolly Jolly Sixpence’, ‘Bless ‘Em All’, ‘Pack up Your Troubles’ and ‘Doing the Lambeth Walk‘ that got everyone singing, and some of our lovely residents were up dancing.
Some family members were also visiting and joined in – they thought it was great!
