Our feathered friends
What a lovely day we had on Wednesday 3 April at Hengist Field Care Home; we had the ducklings out in the paddling pool where our residents loved watching them, cuddling and towel drying them.
The little ducklings were also taken round to our residents’ rooms and the lounges so everyone could see them and hold one if they wished.
Our ladies and gentlemen have loved seeing them hatch and watching them grow and it’s all happened so quickly!
Feeding the birds
We also made some heart-shaped and star-shaped bird feeders recently. We used cardboard tubes with a branch going through the middle, so birds can perch on the branch while they peck at the seeds.
We then placed the feeders out in the garden with our residents’ help, ready for some bird watching! We have our fingers crossed we get some pretty birds visiting the garden.
