We’ve been enjoying a selection of activities with our Horsa Community here at Hengist Field Care Home recently.
These have included arts and crafts, painting and colouring which are very relaxing, our plasma ball which is always fascinating to touch and watch, and our lifelike dementia dolls who always love a cuddle and can be very calming and comforting.
Our dementia dog can also give a feeling of calmness and security; he barks and moves his head and sometimes our residents enjoy brushing him.
Our Sally heads are popular too. Our residents love to brush their hair and create different hairstyles. We also have latch boards/busy boards which are interesting to touch, feel and fiddle with.
At Nellsar we are always striving to find new fun, therapeutic and beneficial activities for our wonderful residents.
