We’ve enjoyed celebrating three residents’ birthdays recently here at Hengist Field Care Home.
A massive happy birthday to our handsome Ken who turned ’86 years young’ on Sunday 2 July, and Mary who celebrated her 82nd birthday on the same day.
Ken’s wife Pam and the family had a lovely afternoon in our Orangery Lounge to celebrate Ken’s special day. Our Chef Kay provided a lovely buffet and made a fantastic birthday cake. The family had a fantastic afternoon and Ken’s wife Pam presented Kay with a thank you card and flowers.
Mary enjoyed opening her cards and gifts, and loved her decorated room. She was delighted with the birthday cake she chose – a Victoria sponge with chocolate dipped strawberries on top. Delicious!
And a very happy 88th birthday to our wonderful resident Barbara who had her birthday at the weekend. She didn’t want a birthday cake, but a lemon meringue pie instead – and why not! Barbara was over the moon with her birthday pie, many birthday cards, banners in her room and lovely gifts. Barbara’s daughter and granddaughter came to visit too, which certainly made her day extra special.
