It was like Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory at our Home on Thursday 20 March as our residents at Hengist Field Care Home came together to make their very own chocolate bars – a delicious activity which had been requested by them.
We used silicon moulds and added melted chocolate with a choice of mixed fruit, fudge pieces, marshmallows, sultanas, meringue pieces, white chocolate chips, nuts and sprinkles. Something for everyone!
Our ladies and gents chose what filling treats they wanted to include in their chocolate bars and placed them in the moulds. They then spooned over the melted chocolate …mmmmm…lots of licking fingers!
The bars were then placed into the freezer for about 20 minutes, until they were firm. To finish them off, we placed them in little cellophane bags for our residents to enjoy, which they loved.
We’ll definitely be doing this activity again as it was so popular and so much fun – and utterly delicious of course!!
