We celebrated VE Day at Hengist Field Care Home by remembering the wartime and embracing the past.
Our residents enjoyed time outside in the sun and loved their Creative Mojo Reminiscence Activity Booklets packed with wartime photos, colouring pages including 1940s fashions, 1940’s song lyrics, wartime word searches and Union Jack bunting to cut out.
Our staff dressed up for the day, including our Operations & Compliance Manager, Silvia Barrett, who looked very smart in her services uniform!
We had fun with our food too – our Union Jack fruit platter, made from blueberries, strawberries and raspberries went down a treat.
It was a day filled with fun activities and memories of the war; our ladies and gents thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
