Relative visits restart at Hengist Field Care Home

We were very pleased to partially open up on Monday 15 June for family members to visit their relative at Hengist Field Care Home, which has been much anticipated after weeks of lockdown.

Our Manager Neli has organised visiting slots of 20 minutes and visitors must wear a mask and gloves and have their temperature taken on arrival.

Relatives are guided around the outside of our building into our Orangery lounge where they meet their loved one, at a two metre distance. A member of staff is on hand with our residents at all times.

A celebratory visit!

One of our visitors yesterday, Barry, came in to see his wife Linda to celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary. We decorated the lounge with banners and balloons for them and our Kitchen Team made a special cake to celebrate the occasion, complete with fresh fruit and heart decorations.

It was lovely to see them reunited (at a distance) – a very ‘Happy Wedding Anniversary‘ to a lovely couple.
