We enjoyed a super Mother’s Day weekend at Hengist Field Care Home.
We took special deliveries of cards and bouquets across the Saturday and Sunday, as our relatives posted in and left gifts for their loved ones; our Recreation and Well-Being Team played ‘postmen’ and ‘delivery maids’ to see that they all arrived on time and with a smile! Our ladies were so delighted with their Mother’s Day treats.
Later in the day we served a special afternoon tea to our residents on each floor, with finger sandwiches and beautifully decorated cupcakes, to ensure the day was extra special.
We also connected families with their mums through Skype and phone calls, and emailed lots of lovely photographs to relatives – with the help of our reception staff – as a keepsake of what proved to be a special sunny day, even though families were unable to meet up.
