We had a busy morning here at Hengist Field Care Home on Tuesday 20 December, making some very tasty mince pies.
Our ladies and gents did a fantastic job of rolling out the floured pastry, using cutters to cut out the top and bottom, placing a teaspoon of mincemeat into the bottom of the pie, milking the edge, then placing the top on the pie and brushing them with milk to make them go golden brown.
The finished golden mince pies were served with afternoon tea and went down a treat – well worth everyone’s hard work!
