On a regular basic, we encourage our residents on our Dementia Unit at Hengist Field Care Home to enjoy a session on their amazing Magic Table – an interactive table full of fun and engaging sensory displays to interact with.
Different activities are added to the Magic Table to keep our residents interested; they particularly enjoy sweeping away leaves and touching stars to make them shoot across the table.
Other engaging displays include fish swimming and flowers which go into bloom when you touch them – so relaxing!
Sensory tools like this are so important for those living with Dementia on our Unit, offering something simple and stimulating to focus on and enjoy.
