We had an amazing afternoon here at Hengist Field Care Home on Tuesday 4 November, when one of our lovely residents, Dorothy, welcomed her son Nigel and his wife Amanda to our Home. The talented pair kindly volunteered to perform a selection of ballroom dances for everyone – and what a treat it was!
Amanda dazzled with two beautiful costume changes, while Nigel shared interesting snippets about each dance style. Although they modestly explained they’re not professional dancers, their skill and passion truly shone through.
The couple performed a stunning Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, and Modern Jive, delighting residents and team members alike. When their performance ended, they invited team and family members to join them on the floor.
Our very own Viv, Head of Recreation and Well-being, and Jackie from our Recreation and Well-being team couldn’t resist joining in, treating everyone to their own light-hearted take on the Tango – which had everyone smiling!
A huge thank you to Nigel and Amanda for taking the time to share their talent and love of dance with us all. It was a truly fabulous afternoon. “Keep dancing!”
