Around the World with Nellsar Cruises….and back!
The six month long virtual cruise was a big hit with our residents here at Hengist Field Care Home. Around the World with Nellsar Cruises saw us ‘stop’ in Hong Kong, India, Spain, Italy France and the Caribbean. Our ‘return’ to England last week marked the end of the virtual travel adventure and we disembarked in style!
On Wednesday 11 August, we had our final stop – this time it was England’s turn to be celebrated! The whole of Hengist Field joined together to savour yummy food and amazing entertainment by the marvellous Dean Ager. It was Dean’s first time performing for us and he went down a storm; Neil Diamond songs were a top favourite.
Our lovely maintenance gentlemen Patrick and Alin provided us all with a delicious barbecue, enjoyed by residents and staff. In the morning, we were very lucky to have a visit from Frank, the English bulldog who loves coming to the Home for a wander around the grounds. Frank likes to see how many treats he can get from everyone he meets!
And finally, we got to meet the Ship’s Captain who has been navigating our ‘Hengist Field Cruise’ throughout the whole journey; now Captain Mark can take a well-earned rest.
It has been great fun to explore the sights and culinary delights of all the countries we visited, and we have made many happy memories.
