Wear It Pink Day for Breast Cancer Now Charity
Staff and residents at Hengist Field Care Home worked hard and played hard on 21 October for the Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink Day’ event.
The day provided an opportunity for some fun and games while reaching out to our staff, friends and families to spread the key message of breast cancer awareness – the importance of regular self-examination to aid early detection.
Having had a raffle and bake sale to raise money for the charity, Hengist Field raised a wonderful £131.77 which will be sent off to help this important cause. Chris, the daughter of one our lovely residents, won 1st prize – a huge soft fluffy pink and fawn coloured rabbit that was nearly as big as her!
