Enjoying social distance relative visits at Hengist Field Care Home

On Friday 19 June we welcomed more family members to visit our residents at Hengist Field Care Home, from a social distance.

Nouritza’s son John saw his mum for the first time in 14 weeks, which was very special and Mary had a visit from her son Steve and daughter-in-law Joan. We are so thrilled to see these visits going so well; they really do bring so much joy.

On Saturday 20 June we continued our visits and Jean B was visited by one of her sons. He told us it was very reassuring to finally see his mum who had come to us from hospital, meaning it has been many long weeks since he last saw her.

Jacqui, Deb and Jackie from our Activities team, would like to thank our Home Manager Neli and Operations Manager Silvia, for all their support, fun and laughter during this emotional time of the Covid-19 lockdown. They say it has been a pleasure working with them both through this difficult time.

Jacqui has put together a wonderful lock down collage board, showing many fun moments organised by our Activities staff to keep both staff and residents smiling through this tough time. We have had many emotional moments during the pandemic, but have worked together to keep as many smiles on peoples’ faces as we possibly could. Jacqui will continue to add to the board and hopes to include photos of happy family reunions as relatives begin to see their loved ones.
