Cookery Club at Hengist Field Care Home

On Thursday 4 May, we held our Cookery Club at Hengist Field Care Home, where we made coronation jam and cream puffs and some flapjacks.

The puffs and flapjacks were made from scratch, with our residents weighing out the ingredients, mixing them together, making the shapes and of course taste testing!

Once the puffs were cooked, our residents then mixed the whipping cream together and filled them with the cream and jam (certainly no skimping on the filling!) and decorated them with patriotic icing. When the flapjacks were cooked, the smell was delicious and very tempting.

Once baked, everyone enjoyed their puffs and flapjacks with a lovely afternoon cuppa.

We had so much fun together and our residents loved it (...especially licking the spoons afterwards!).
