Celebrating our Nurses and Carers at Hengist Field Care Home

Hengist Field Care Home specialises in nursing care services and we wouldn’t be able to take care of our residents without our amazing team of Nurses and Carers. For this year’s International Nurses Day on Friday 12 May, our Recreation and Well-Being team spent time with our residents doing creative activities to give thanks and to bring a smile to their faces!

Flower arranging

We had a fun, fantastic afternoon at Hengist Field on Thursday 11 May in the lead up to International Nurses Day. Everyone thought it would be lovely to make some small bouquets and flower arrangements to give to all our Nurses and Carers, to say thank you for all that they do.

We had roses, carnations, orange blossom, rosemary, lilac flowers, coloured tulips, gypsophila, bamboo grass and fern branches. The Home smelt wonderful! Our ladies and gents worked really hard (as you can see by the concentration on their faces!) to make the perfect bouquet or arrangement, and they were all beautiful!

Making thank you cards

Our lovely residents also made Thank You cards for all our fantastic Nurses and Carers for International Nurses Day – they wanted to say a big “Thank You” for all they do and the care they give. Some beautiful cards were made, using sparkly gems, feathers, glitter, pretty stickers, paper butterflies, paper flowers and more! We really have some truly creative individuals here at Hengist Field – the cards were all so pretty!

International Nurses Day

When the special day arrived last Friday, our lovely residents handed out the homemade cards and floral arrangements to our Nurses and Carers to celebrate them and give thanks on International Nurses Day (12 May). It was quite an emotional afternoon and everyone thought their flowers and cards were lovely!

A huge thank you to all our fantastic Nurses and Carers for everything you do. Happy International Nurses Day!
