Cake pops and royal decorations at Hengist Field Care Home

American sweet treats

We had a lovely afternoon in our Cookery Club last week here at Hengist Field Care Home, when we had fun creating some American sweet treats.

Our residents enjoyed making and sampling sponge cake pops using a special baking press.

We had music playing in the background, so we could sing along while mixing our cake mixture! We also enjoyed having a group conversation and reminiscing about who liked cooking and what they liked cooking – old time food and new recipes.

Everyone loved making and decorating their cake pops with melted chocolate, icing and different sprinkles.

Yes, spoons and fingers were licked! There were full tummies, happy faces and plenty of laughter. Great fun!

Crown jewels

Everyone at Hengist Field is getting really excited and looking forward to all of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

We are delighted to report that the crown jewels have arrived here at our Home, all ready for our own coronation in June! A magnificent and beautiful crown, accompanied by her majesty’s orb and sceptre.

They are being heavily protected by our very own Queen’s guard!
